The first video is of Molly and her last litter. We have it here to show you why we don't do forced weaning. As you can see from watching Molly play with her puppies a lot of the time she initiates the play and draws the puppies to her. It really is amazing to watch, to see the Mothers teaching the puppies and to see them interacting together. This is how puppies learn to be a "dog". The Mom teaches them, disciplines them, she will play with each puppy according to their own temperament and disposition. The Mom will play with a puppy that is more rambunctious and active the same way, She will chase the puppy, have the puppy chase her, and then with a gentler more calm puppy she will go down on her haunches and wrestle in a gentle fashion, let them crawl on her, etc. This is a wonderful experience for the Mother and for the puppies. We feel strongly that puppies that are removed from their Mother are missing out on a very important part of their growth and learning. The Moms are happier, the puppies are happier, its just the right thing to do!
