Your MollyDogs Puppy, The "Paw"ssenger

Well it’s time for your puppy to come home and due to distance you have to have your puppy shipped to you. We know this can be very concerning to you as you worry about what this will mean for your new family member.

We want to bring you some reassurance and peace of mind about shipping your MollyDog puppy. We understand this is your very first time having a puppy shipped however we regularly ship puppies and if we thought for one minute it harmed them in any way we just simply wouldn’t do it. We have puppies from the west coast of Canada to the east coast of Canada, and all over the United States, Texas, Florida, California, New York, Washington, etc.

Purchasing a MollyDog Puppy was the best decision you could make when it comes to shipping your puppy, they make the best “pawssengers”. The reason that can give you some peace of mind is because of the crate training and bio sensor work we do with our puppies. One of the benefits of the bio sensor training is that it helps puppies adjust much easier to new situations and stresses than puppies that are raised without it. They learn how to calm themselves down and will handle stress much better than the average dog.

The other great thing is the crate training that we do. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve taken puppies to the airport and the staff at the airport will say to us “why are your puppies so happy in their crate? Your puppies always sit and look at us with their tail wagging or they will just curl up and sleep. Other breeders bring puppies in and they are crying and digging, absolutely terrified.” We are happy to tell them it’s because of all the crate training work we put into our puppies, getting them ready from birth to think of their crate as a little den. They are very content in them and will often just curl up and snuggle in their soft blanket.

So you see, you don’t have to worry, your puppy will be just fine.

Here's What You Need to Know

at MollyDogs if the puppy is being shipped we will wait until they are older than 8 weeks before shipping. Usually 9 weeks, or longer if they will have a long flight or travel day ahead of them.
also the puppy should be 2 lbs or over before shipping.
the cargo area where your puppy will be is climate controlled, cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
we always schedule the puppy on the shortest flight possible for their trip home.

Whatever is best for the puppy is what guides us.

You should be aware that weather conditions/temperatures can affect flight schedules, we do our best to work around this but sometimes this is beyond our control.

Rest assured ~ many, many times we have heard back from families on the receiving end how the puppies have come out of their crates at the airport with their tails wagging, giving kisses and happy to see their new families and best of all ~ no accidents in the crate!

What to Bring to The Airport

The first thing to do is to make sure you know where the CARGO area at your airport is. We can’t stress that enough. Where you pick up your puppy will not be where you would normally go to pick up a person. So knowing the location ahead of time will save you a lot of last minute grief driving around trying to find out where to pick your puppy up from. Plus your puppy will waiting for you and anxious to meet you! J

Allow 20 minutes to half an hour after the plane arrives to pick up your puppy.

Make sure you have the weigh bill # that I emailed you and photo ID to show that you are the rightful owner of the puppy.

Take to the airport a litter tray if you are going to be litter training, if not take some newspaper to put down for the puppy to go on as you can’t put them on the ground there. They may not need to go but just in case.

Also take a collar and leash so that if you do put the puppy down on paper you have some control over their movements.

Bring along a nice soft blanket or towel in case the puppy has had an accident during travel, that way you can put clean bedding in for the puppy. Also baby wipes to clean the puppy if necessary and some household wipes, like Lysol wipes, to clean the inside of the crate in case the puppy has had an accident.

You can take a small amount of water and some puppy food along, chances are they may not want any but it’s good to have it on hand just in case.

A camera is essential of course as you will want to record your first moments with your new family member and even the trip home!

Other than that lots of cuddles and hugs to welcome your new family member!

Please don’t forget to phone us as we are always waiting anxiously to hear that our puppies have made it to their new families safely. You can take along our phone number to the airport or call us once everyone is home. Thank you.

Most importantly ENJOY YOUR NEW FAMILY MEMBER!
