Shichon Puppy Selection Process

Our puppy selection process works like this:

Our puppy selection process works like this. Once you have contacted us and sent back our Puppy Adoption form completed along with a deposit of $250.00 your name will be added to our waiting list and we will be in touch with you regarding upcoming litters and your pick position on the list.

Then after waiting patiently for the big news that the puppies have arrived you will receive an email with the happy news, outlining males, females, etc. If I have had time I will also send along a quick picture of the newborn puppies but that is not always provided, it depends on the situation but we do try to get pictures as soon as possible as we know everyone is so excited to see the newborns.

Then over the course of the next couple of weeks we update photos and will email them to the families for that particular litter, as well we update our website. Once their little tails are wagging and they have a story to tell us about who they are, usually around 3 – 4 weeks, we begin our puppy selection. This involves starting at the top of our waiting list and just working our way through it.

It usually involves many phone calls, emails and pictures ~ we want to help you make exactly the right selection for your new family member. The Bio Sensor work we do with our puppies plays a very important role at this time as it gives us great insight into what the adult temperament of our puppies will be.

Once you have selected your puppy and chosen a name we will add the name to the puppy’s photo on the website.

We give our puppies a temporary name and will happily call them by their new name given by their family once we know it.

We continue on with photos, emails and even the odd video to help you watch your puppy grow and develop. It also gives us a chance to get to know each other and, we hope, makes you feel comfortable enough to ask any questions at all you may have about bringing your puppy home. The more informed you are and the more prepared you are the transition for the puppy will be that much easier.
