Jan. 31/12 - Well February is upon us, this has got to be the warmest, mildest winter on record. Wow. Simply gorgeous outside.  Me and all my MollyDog friends are all groomed up nice and short like it was spring. Speaking of spring, we are going to have some beautiful puppies to play with soon. Cleo just had hers and the pictures are posted of the little newborns. So sweet and so tiny.  Our Rufus has fathered his first batch of puppies with Pepsi and they will be due right around  Valentine’s Day. Perfect.

If you are thinking about getting a puppy but think you should wait until summer here is something you may not know but should definitely consider. This time of year I get a lot of people contacting me wanting a puppy for when school is out and what I find is that they don’t realize how a puppy’s vaccination schedule works. When you get an 8 or 9 week old puppy it has only had its’ first shot; did you know that you can’t take the puppy anywhere? They cannot go to public parks, ball diamonds, soccer fields, beaches, cottages, etc. Even when they have had their second shot at 12 weeks where they can go is still very limited until they are done their 3rd shot at 16 weeks at which time they will also get their rabies shot. Then they are finally able to go everywhere, out and about with their family. So when you get a puppy at the end of June it really ties you down until the end of August. Which is okay, depending on how active a family you are and/or if you travel over the summer. If you already know all this then please forgive me I just really like to make sure my families understand so that they can keep their puppy healthy and safe.

'Til next time,
